HAIR FIBERS
REMI-REMY HUMAN HAIR - refers to human hair (usually Indian in origin) which has been harvested from root to end with the cuticle all going in the same direction. It can be colored or permed and is soft and silky. The hair quality or integrity has not been compromised and resists tangling like some other forms of human hair might.
HUMAN HAIR BLEND - a combination of human hair and synthetic fiber. The synthetic hair tends to hold it's shape after washing and the human hair looks natural and is more durable. The combination gives the wig more versatility and flexibility in styling. It is usually used in 25%, 35% and 50% ratios to synthetic fibers.
SYNTHETIC FIBER - there are three types of synthetic fibers used to manufacture wigs, which are polyester, acrylic, and polyvinyl chloride (PVC.) They are not resistant to heat and styling products, therefore NO heat of any sort is to be used in attempting to style a synthetic wig.
HEAT-FRIENDLY SYNTHETIC FIBER - high heat resistant hair, also referred to as heat-friendly hair or HD fiber. The fiber is heat styleable at noted temperatures, generally at 270-300 degrees Fahrenheit. Designed for the wearer who seeks some degree of control in day to day styling, but with the ease of care and cost-effectiveness of not purchasing human hair.
VIRGIN HAIR - human hair left in its original state as harvested from the grower. It has not been permed, colored, or chemically altered in any way. The cuticle goes in the same direction and is preserved to maximize quality.
